Description
The Stallion chess set is modelled on the classic Staunton figures created in the English style. It is almost impossible to find such good figures at such an affordable price offered by our shop.
The set is characterised by beautiful details (intricately carved king's crown and hetman's head). "The English Stallion" (Stallion), or horse figure, has his head proudly raised, ears laid back and teeth bared, ready to defend his king at all costs. The other figures are equally beautifully made, perfectly balanced with a very smooth, polished surface. The figures are double weighted.
The black part of this set is made of boxwood, coated with a colour that adds to their ebony appearance and incidentally eliminates many of the problems that afflict ebony figures, min. cracking. The white figures are made of boxwood.
Treat these figures as you would elegant furniture. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight and store them in rooms with moderate humidity and they will remain beautiful for many years.
The wooden chest No. 7 and chess boards with fields of 45 -50 mm are ideally suited to this set.
